Donita Clark joined the Iowa Heartland Habitat for Humanity team back in August of 2022. In that time she has completed over 1300 hours of service in her Waterloo community. Donita is a currently serving as a volunteer engagement coordinator. In her role she works directly with Iowa Heartland volunteers so they can build and repair so many more homes in Waterloo. A typical day for Donita involves scheduling volunteers, greeting them on construction sites and so much more.

We asked Donita some questions about her service experience so far serving as an AmeriCorps member with Iowa Heartland Habitat for Humanity.

What inspired you to serve? - To make a difference in my community

What do you enjoy most about serving? The people I work with and the home buyers we interact with

If you are interested in serving just like Donita, go to www.iowahabitat.org/apply-americorps to view open positions across the state that will start up this fall.
