Today we are introducing our #AmeriCorps members serving across the state for #AmeriCorpsWeek. Meet Charlotte Judkins serving at Greater Des Moines Habitat for Humanity as a construction AmeriCorps member. Charlotte has a lot of ideas of where her future could lead her and she felt joining this program for half a year “would be the perfect opportunity to see if I enjoy woodworking trades”. Charlotte also hopes that she will get to learn about landscaping as well.

What inspired you to serve?
I love my community and want to foster opportunities for people who don't have a lot of access, and I think it would be the perfect opportunity to see if I enjoy woodworking trades.
What do you enjoy most about serving?
The opportunity to earn money for school
What do you like most about your Habitat for Humanity?
The office is full of nice smart people
What is one thing you learned in the last month?
I learned how to properly use power tools
